Shannon's Story

I wasn’t always into fitness.

Growing up, sport was never really my thing. I hated PE in school. My relationship with my body, weight and health was shaped by years of unhealthy habits, yo-yo dieting, failed New Year’s resolutions, all of which left me feeling stuck in a cycle of starting over. For a long time, I thought the answer was simply to lose weight. What I didn’t realise was that what I really needed was a change in mindset.

In 2020, after years of trying and falling back into old patterns, I decided to approach things differently. Instead of focusing on the weight I wanted to lose, I shifted my focus to the habits I wanted to build.

Small, intentional changes. Showing up for myself. Making choices that aligned with the person I wanted to become.

And slowly, things started to change. Not just physically, but mentally, too.

That’s when everything shifted.

Somewhere along the way, I found my love for weight training. What started as a way to change my body became something that changed my life.

I discovered the confidence that comes from doing hard things, the clarity that movement can bring, and the power of building a relationship with exercise that goes beyond how you look.

I was building strength, inside and out.

That experience sparked a deeper interest in the connection between exercise and mental wellbeing.

I went on to complete my qualifications as a coach before beginning my Master’s degree in Psychology, where I dedicated my research to exploring the psychological and mood-related effects of resistance training.

The more I learned, the more I believed in something I’d experienced first-hand.. fitness has the power to change how we feel, how we think and how we show up in our lives.

And that’s what brings me to SULVNS.

I created SULVNS to be about more than workouts. It’s about bringing people together through SWEAT, STYLE, SOCIALS and the STORIES that make us who we are. We’re making fitness feel less intimidating and more inclusive. We celebrate progress over perfection, find strength in different forms, and recognise that everyone has a STORY worth sharing.

You don’t need to be the fittest person in the room to belong. You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. You just have to show up, however that looks for you.

My goal is to help as many people as possible experience the physical and mental benefits that changed my life, while creating a community that makes the journey feel a little less lonely and a lot more meaningful.

SULVNS is where fitness meets real life. Where we move together, grow together, connect beyond the gym and celebrate everything that makes us human.

Real people, real conversations, genuine connections.

This is about more than getting stronger. It’s about finding your people, building better habits and becoming the person you want to be. One day, one rep and one small choice at a time.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Welcome to SULVNS, 7!
